John T. Shelton

82; WW II Army veteran

Funeral services for John Shelton, 82, of Jeffersonville, will be held at noon, Friday, Nov. 6, at Scott Funeral Home¹s North Chapel, with burial in

Walnut Ridge Cemetery. He died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at his home.

He was an Army Veteran of World War II and a member of Jeffersonville Masonic Lodge 340. He retired from Colgate Palmolive as a Maintenance

Machinist. He was also an active member of First Christian Church in Jeffersonville.

Survivors include four children, Jerry Shelton, of Jeffersonville, Mickey Morgan and her husband, Denny, of Jeffersonville, David Shelton and his

wife, Sabeena, of New Albany, and Johnny Shelton and his wife, Angie, of Kosciusko, Miss.; a dearest friend, Mabel Boyle, of Jeffersonville; six

grandchildren, Eric Morgan, of Clarksville, Angela Morgan, of Jeffersonville, Monica Pierre, of Jeffersonville, Jessica Shelton, of Clarksville, Scott Shelton, of Jeffersonville, and Kevin Shelton, of Memphis; and eight great-grandchildren, Michelle Morgan, Emma Morgan, Gabriel Pierre, Arianna Pierre, Jayden Pierre, Taylor Shelton, Jacob Shelton and Ella Shelton.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Shelton; parents, Henry and Etta Shelton; and his siblings, H.C. Shelton, and Sarah London.

Visitation at the funeral home will be from 4 to 8 p.m., with a Masonic funeral service with members from the Jeffersonville Masonic Lodge 340 at 7

p.m., today.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of memorial contributions to First Christian Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
