Funeral services for Gene Sheldon Blackford, 63, of Charlestown, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday Nov. 21, at Grayson Funeral Home, Charlestown, with burial in Hibernia Cemetery. He died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, at St. Catherine Regional Hospital, Charlestown.
He was born Jan. 23, 1946, in Charlestown, to Henry and Opal Hunt Blackford. He was a former employee of Pepsi Company and Swifty Gas Station in Charlestown.
Survivors include his son, James Blackford his wife, Karen, of Otisco; daughter, Melinda Stutesman and her husband, Jimmy, of Nabb; sister, Mary Ann Briscoe; and grandchildren, Morgan Blackford Sampson, Matt Sampson, James Michael Blackford, and Brett Eli Blackford.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from noon to 8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday.
