Funeral service for Charles Andrew Schnieders Sr., of Charlestown, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday Nov. 25, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, in Charlestown, with burial to follow in Walnut Ridge Cemetery, in Jeffersonville. He died Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at University of Louisville Hospital.
He was born on Jan. 13, 1925, in Louisville, Ky., to Henry and Ann Ambrosius Schnieders. He was a retired superintendent of Al J. Schneider and Assoc. He was a Army Air Corp veteran of WWII. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 204, lifetime member of VFW Post 1427, and a lifetime member of the Carpenters Local 64.
Survivors include his sons Charles Schnieders, Jr. of Louisville, Ky., Terry Schnieders of Pekin, Ind., and Joe Schnieders of Pekin, Ind.; daughters Vicki Lynn Liedel of Maybee, Mich., and Andrea Bobo of Pekin, Ind.; sisters Mary Langnehs of Louisville, Ky., Alvina Sampson of Louisville, Ky., and Carol Cashen of Louisville, Ky.; 13 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Donna M. Schnieders, wife Delores J. Schnieders, and 4 brothers.
Visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 24, at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown.
