Rev. Father Mark F. Mindrup

96; of Mount Saint Francis






A funeral Mass for Rev. Father Mark F. Mindrup, OFM Conv, 96, of Mount Saint Francis, will be at 11:45 a.m. Monday, Dec. 14, in the Chapel at Mount St. Francis, 101 St. Anthony Drive, Mount St. Francis, with burial in the Friar’s Cemetery. He died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, at St. Gertrude Health Center in Shakopee, Minn.

He was born March 11, 1913, in Terre Haute. He professed his solemn vows and was ordained a priest on June 3, 1939, in Holy Rosary Cathedral in Toledo, Ohio. In 1942, he earned a License in Sacred Theology from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. Prior to 1970, he served as a pastor, a preacher of parish missions, and a professor of Ethics and Moral Theology. From 1966-70, he served as the Vicar-Provincial for the Province of Our Lady of Consolation at Mount St. Francis.

Survivors include his nephews and a niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna Deters Mindrup; brothers, John and Joseph; and sisters, Catherine Mindrup Scott and Rosa Mindrup.

There will be a vigil service in the Chapel at Mount St. Francis at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Kraft Funeral Service, Spring Street Chapel, New Albany, is in charge of the arrangements.
