Dabney, Thelma ‘Pauline’ Kahl

82; of Alaska

Thelma “Pauline” Kahl Dabney, 82, of Soldotna, Alaska, died Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna, Alaska.

She was born June 19, 1927, to Joseph Edward and Earline Bridgewater Kahl in Scottsburg. She graduated from high school and furthered her education by attending secretarial school in Louisville. She lived in Anderson for 23 years before making Soldotna her final home. She attended the United Methodist Church in Kenai and loved to donate baked goods and crafts for various fundraisers in the community. She also enjoyed knitting, reading, gardening, collecting and traveling.

Survivors include her husband, Amanuel C. Dabney; children, Yvonne Dabney, of Fairbanks, Alaska, Eric Dabney and his wife, Rory, of Oregon City, Oregon, Greg Dabney and his wife, Gillian, of Fairbanks, Alaska and Barbie Dabney, of Novato, Calif.; grandchildren, Chris and Jason, of Homer, Alaska, Erin, of Wasilla, Alaska, and Jeremiah, Orrin, Tyrell and Ethan, all of Fairbanks, Alaska; and great-grandchildren, Levi, Noah, Keeley, and Audrey, all of Homer, and Alaska and Audrey Summer, of Fairbanks, Alaska.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Lillian Kahl Stein and Wilma Kahl Sims.

No public service will be held.
