A funeral Mass for Jean Marrs Roberts, 87, of Sellersburg, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Sellersburg, with burial in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. She died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at her home.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, graduated from Englewood Hospital in Chicago, Illinois School of Nursing in 1951, and served as Registered Nurse at Clark Memorial Hospital from 1952-1990 where she retired
Surviving include two sons, Robert H. Roberts and his wife, Patti, of Borden, and James M. Roberts and his wife, Jenni, of Aurora, Ill.; four daughters, Theresa Uhl and her husband, Gary, of Palmrya, Bonnie Smith and her husband, Daniel, of Memphis, Nancy Emery and her husband, Bill, of Sellersburg, and Sarah J. Townsend and her husband, Gerry, of Memphis; sister, Judy Lewis, of Borden; 20 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and care givers, Debbie Kleehammer, Carolyn Henderson and William Eddy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Roberts, parents, Benjamin and Virginia Marrs, brother, Howard Marrs and sisters, Eva Tingley, Velma Hanson, Helen Meyer and Marjorie Martin.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the Garr Funeral Home, Sellersburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul’s Catholic Church or St. Elizabeth’s Home.
