Funeral services for Dorothy Virginia Holmes, 91, of Clarksville, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 7, at Chapman Funeral Home, Clarksville, with entombment in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. He died Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at the University of Louisville Health Care.
She was born in Roaring Fork, Va., and was a loving mother and grandmother.
Survivors include three sons, Kay Don Holmes and his wife, Donna, of Shepherdsville, Ky., Johnny Holmes, of Floyds Knobs, and Craig Layne Holmes, of Clarksville; four daughters, Bobbie Vanover and her husband, Donald, of Georgetown, Melody Bentley, of West Memphis, Ark., Pamela Davis and her husband, Chuck, of Indianapolis, and Dorothea “Chinky” Leuthart and her husband, Bob, of Clarksville; three sisters, Marie McConnell, of Detroit, Bernice Sanders, of Norton, Va., and Leorie Spradlin, of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; 16 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Holmes; and two sons, Alan Dale Holmes and James Holmes.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, and after 9 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.
