Funeral services celebrating the life of Bernice L. Emery, 85, of New Albany, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 17, at Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, Oak Street Chapel, New Albany. She died Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services, New Albany.
She was the former Bernice L. Getchell, a native of Port Angles, Wash., was a Cub Scout Den Mother and a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, David “Billy” Emery and his wife, Nancy; three grandchildren, John Emery, Sally Wade and Carrie Tegart and her husband, Mark; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William G. Emery, a brother, Donald Getchell, and a grandson-in-law, Justin Wade.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of sending flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be given to the First Baptist Church.
