Funeral services for Martha B. Beatty, 98, of Sellersburg, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 16, at E.M. Coots’ Sons Funeral Home, Jeffersonville, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. She died Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Sellersburg Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was a member of Eastern Heights Baptist Church, and was a native of Jeffersonville.
She is survived by her son, John D. Beatty and wife Patsy, of Jeffersonville; daughter, Sissy Book and husband, Paul, of New Albany; grandchildren, Arthur “Corky” Preston Beatty Jr., Heather “Jodie” Beatty, Cara “Dolly” Jeanne Gray, Martha “Dani” Danielle Cobb, Katie Anne Lindsey, Stuart Paul Book, and Erin Lizabeth Beatty; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur J. “Doc” Beatty; sons, Arthur “Corky” Preston Beatty Sr., and Joseph Burton Beatty; father, Wiles Burton O’Neal; mother, Kate O’Neal; brothers, Arthur O’Neal, and Chester O’Neal; and sisters, Nora Taylor, Catherine Barksdale, and Mary Ellen Ballinger.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
