Funeral services for David Lee “Pappy” Thomas, 61, of Jeffersonville, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, at Scott Funeral Home’s North Chapel, Jeffersonville. A memory sharing service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home. He died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Louisville, a retired captain on the Louisville Fire Department and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Jeffersonville.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Brenda Thomas; three children, Kacy Losey and her husband, Jeff; Kara Rutherford and her husband, Travis, and Josh Thomas and his wife, Katie; four grandchildren, Cooper Losey, Sophia Losey, Jackson Rutherford and Abbigail Rutherford; a brother, Tony Thomas; and a sister, Linda Kolle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Olene Thomas; three brothers, Jimmy, Dennis and Stanley Thomas; and a granddaughter, Olivia Grace Losey.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
