Sperzel, William ‘Bill’ Thomas

55; of Jeffersonville

Funeral services for William “Bill” Thomas Sperzel, 55, of Jeffersonville, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 25, at Scott Funeral Home’s North Chapel, Jeffersonville, with entombment in Kraft-Graceland Mausoleum, New Albany. He died Monday, June 21, 2010, at his home.   

He was born in Jeffersonville, a general manager for 28 years at Simms Wholesale Tire and attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Jeffersonville. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 1348, the Jeffersonville Optimist Club and enjoyed boating and spending time with family and friends.  

Survivors include his loving wife, Lois Sperzel; sons, Derek and Kevin Sperzel, both of Jeffersonville; sister, Linda Agnew and her husband, Bud, of Floyds Knobs; brother, Donnie Sperzel and his wife Ceil, of Jeffersonville; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joyce and Larry Hutt, of Ashland, Ky.; his four legged buddy, Max; and numerous nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Jean Ann Sperzel; and his brother-in-law, Tom Nalley Jr.   

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and after 9 a.m. Friday.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hosparus of Southern Indiana or the Knights of Columbus 1348 for the Gibault School. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
