Funeral services for Erma Marie Barrett, 97, of New Albany, will be at noon Saturday, Oct. 13, at Kraft Funeral Service, Charlestown Road Chapel, New Albany, with cremation to follow. She died Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at Westminster Healthcare in Clarksville.
She was born Jan. 23, 1915, in Louisville, to the late John and Amelia Elzy. Erma and her husband, Donald were the owners and operators of the old Tri-City Auto Supply in New Albany. She was a former member of St. Marks United Church of Christ and was a current member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was also a longtime member of the Altrusa Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna M. Barrett; grandsons, Donald Scott Hawkins and Todd Hawkins; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Barrett; and daughter, Carol Sue Hawkins.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
