Therica “Marie” (Walker) Thompson, 69, a long-time resident of New Albany, entered into Heaven on Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, after an almost seven-year battle against cancer.
She was a registered nurse for the University of Louisville Hospital Pediatrics Unit. Marie was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her devoted husband of18 years, Paul Thompson; children, Thomas L. Reeder and his wife Susan, Edward L. Reeder and his wife Lori, Tonda K. Reeder (Al Orduno Jr.), Jennie L. Huffman and her husband Joseph, and Regina L. Disponett and her husband David; step-daughter, Missy Withers and her husband Timothy; sisters, Juanita Spears and Alverna Falb; brother, Rick Jennings and his wife Barb; grandchildren, Nina, Jacob and his wife Heather, Thomas, Craig, Samantha, Alex, James, Dillon, Jessica, and Abbey; and great-granddaughter, Morgan.
Visitation will be from 12 to 3 p.m. Monday, at Newcomer Funeral Home, New Albany, with cremation to follow according to Marie’s wishes.
Marie also wanted to share special heart-felt thanks for the exceptional and loving care she received from Dr. Dev and her wonderful staff.
