A memorial service for Harold H. Blake, 89, of New Albany, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Providence Retirement Home Chapel, New Albany. He died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at Providence Retirement Home.
He was a retired switchman for Southern K&I Railroad. He was a U.S. Marine veteran of World War II, and was past commander of the VFW Hobart Beach Post 1693. He was also a Mason.
Survivors include a son, Timothy L. Blake, of Louisville; a daughter, Karen Olinik, of Austintown, Ohio; four grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther L. Andrews Blake; daughter, Phyllis Blake; and parents, Phillip and Grace Blake.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project.
