Catherine Jane ‘Janie’ Zoeller

71; of New Albany

A funeral Mass for Catherine Jane “Janie” Zoeller, 71, of New Albany, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 129 West Daisy Lane, New Albany, with burial in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. She died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at her home surrounded by her family.

The daughter of the late Jerome Joseph and Mary Irene Perry Zoeller Sr., she was born June 10, 1939, in Vincennes. She graduated from Dublin High School in Dublin, Ohio, and the Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing in Cincinnati. She retired after 35 years as a registered nurse in the operating room at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Albany and the Alumni Association of the Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing and former member of Holy Family Catholic Church in New Albany.

Survivors include her sisters, Torchy and Sue Zoeller, both of Cincinnati; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Nancy Zoeller, Jr., of Cincinnati; nieces and nephews, Jennifer and Brad Childers, Angela and Jason Grantmaier, Jerry Zoeller III and his fiancée, Jessica Malnstrom, Melissa and Brad Fraser, and Frank and Allison Zoeller; great-nieces and nephews, Christopher and Victoria Childers, Elizabeth, Kaitlyn and Alyssa Grantmaier, and Brady and Logan Fraser.

Visitation will be at Kraft Funeral Service, Spring Street Chapel, New Albany, from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the St. Vincent dePaul Society in her memory.
