James R. Rogge, 79, of New Albany, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2013.
He retired from the Kentucky Air National Guard as a Chief Master Sergeant after more than 30 years of service. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling across the country with his wife in their RV. He was born April 23, 1933 in Floyds Knobs, to the late Herman and Mona Meddles Rogge.
He is survived by his wife of almost 61 years, Dolores M. Archer Rogge; son, James R. “Bob” Rogge Jr. and his wife, Lisa; sister, Diana Montgomery and her husband, Erle; grandsons, Adam and his wife, Lauren, and Matthew Rogge; and great-granddaughters, Brynne and Lainey Rogge.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda.
Cremation was chosen following Jim’s wishes. A private burial will take place at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
Newcomer Funeral Home, New Albany, is in charge of the arrangements.
