Butner, James E. Jr.

77; of Floyds Knobs


— Funeral services for James E. Butner Jr., 77, of Floyds Knobs, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 31, at Colgate Baptist Church, 125 East Montgomery Ave., Clarksville, with entombment in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. He died Wednesday, July 29, 2010, at his home.

He was born in Indianapolis and was the president of Jim Butner Auto Sales, Clarksville,  He was a member of the Colgate Baptist Church, Clarksville.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy “Dottie” Eddings Butner; sons, James A. “Jimmy” Butner Sr. and his wife, Sherry, of Georgetown, Tony R. Knight and his wife, Shirley, of Floyds Knobs and James E. “Bo” Butner III, of Floyds Knobs; daughters, Deborah “Debbie” Blackburn and her husband, Art, of Charlestown, Shelia Arms, of New Albany, Tammy Naville and her husband, Donald, of Floyds Knobs and Alice Butner, of Sellersburg; brother, Jerry Butner, of Indianapolis; 25 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by two brothers,  Gary and Robert Butner, a sister, Suzette Butner and a son-in-law, Michael Arms.

Visitation will be at Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, Market Street Chapel, New Albany, from  1 to 8 p.m. Friday, and at the church after 9 a.m. Saturday.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Southern Indiana or Neuroendocrine Cancer Research.
