Funeral services for Donald “Jim” Guernsey Sr., 78, of Henryville, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 31, at Garr Funeral Home, Sellersburg, with interment in Fairview Cemetery, Underwood. He died Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was an insulator for the Asbestos Workers Union, and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the American Legion, Henryville Post, was active in the Henryville Little League, and a member of the First Christian Church, Scottsburg.
Survivors include a son, Donald James Guernsey Jr., of Henryville; three daughters, Karen Kaelin and her husband, Mike, of Salem, Connie Roll and her husband, Clarence, of Louisville and Linda Carpenter, of Henryville; grandchildren, Jeremy, Elizabeth, Ashley and Warren Kaelin, Jessica and Lydia Carpenter and Kelsey, Brittany, Jamee and Madison Guernsey; and great-grandson, Everett “Oscar” Kaelin.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Lee Guernsey; and a brother, Bill Guernsey.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
