A memorial service for Barbara Ann Stewart Summers, 75, of New Albany, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, at Newcomer Funeral Home, New Albany. She died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at Rolling Hills Nursing Home in New Albany. She enjoyed knitting, playing cards, and doing various home projects, but most enjoyed spending time doting on her family, which she cherished dearly. She was born May 7, 1937 in New Albany to the late James “Jinx” and Lilly Nance Stewart. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Laura Everbach.
She met her husband of 60 years at the age of 10 at E. Spring Street School, Donald L. Summers. Along with her husband, she is survived by her sons, Kevin L. Summers and his wife, Judy, and Eric L. Summers; grandchildren, Victoria Risley, Anastasia Summers, Dustin Summers, Shane Summers, Rebecca Reisert; and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorial visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
