Funeral services for Margie Mason Richert, 80, of New Albany, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, at Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, Oak Street Chapel, New Albany, with private interment. She died, being called to the house of the Lord, Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.
She was the former Margie Burton, born on March 23, 1932 in Stanford, Ky. She was the daughter to Clarence and Grace Burton. She was a retired nurse at Floyd Memorial Hospital, and loved to travel any time she got the itch, which was quite often. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother who was happiest when surrounded by her family, especially around any holiday.
Survivors include a son, Doug Mason, of New Albany; two daughters, Pam Kahl and her husband, Mickey, of New Albany, and Patti Dension and her husband, Tim, of Georgetown; six grandchildren, Chris Mason, Laura Proctor, Kara Coatney, Dillon Kahl, Mitch Kahl, and Amber Denison; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank D. Mason, second husband, George “Bud” Richert, three brothers, Wiley, Clayton and Dave Burton, and her parents, Clarence and Grace Burton.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, or Gideon’s International.
