Funeral services for Mary E. Knight, 97, of Jeffersonville, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Jeffersonville. She died Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at her home.
Mary lived her life as a homemaker and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include her sons, Charles D. Knight and his wife, Donna, of Jeffersonville, David L. Knight and his wife, Susan, of Jeffersonville, and Thomas M. Knight, of Clarksville; her daughters, Jacqueline A. Thomas and her husband, Joseph, of Floyds Knobs, Teresa R. Popp and her husband, Dale, of Jeffersonville, and Karen S. Lovan and her husband, Phillip, of Jeffersonville; her sister, Jeanne Taflinger, of Jeffersonville; 20 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Knight, her mother, Marjorie (Beck) Ogden, her father, Dale Ogden, and a grandson, Thomas Dale Knight.
The family would like to express its highest regard and deepest appreciation to Mary’s caregiver Teresa Simmons and her husband, Tom. For the past four years, Mary had the constant protection and compassionate care from an angel. Teresa looked after mom, watching every detail and administered to her as she passed peacefully. Her diligence and compassion toward our mother will never be forgotten. Thank you, Teresa and Tom.
Visitation at Sacred Heart Catholic Church will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service on Tuesday.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Providence High School.
