A memorial service for Susan ‘Meme’ Louise McCoskey Tomes, 59, of Underwood, will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at Garr Funeral Home, Sellersburg. She died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at University Hospital in Louisville.
She retired from Reynolds/Alcoa after 31 years and was a volunteer of the Survivor’s of Suicide Organization.
Survivors include her husband, Steveson Tomes; daughter, Angela Tinsley and her husband, Todd, of Sellersburg; son, Christopher G. Tomes, (Jennifer Kincaid) of Clarksville; sisters, Joyce Temple, of Louisville, Nancy Logsdon and her husband, John, of Shepherdsville, Ky., Cathy Staples, of Louisville, Rosemary Bissinger and her husband, Joe, of Louisville, and Judy Oatson and her husband, Mike, of Mt. Washington, Ky.; grandchildren, Alexandra, Nicholas and Zachary Tinsley and Hunter Tomes; and numerous extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Matthew and Mary Catherine Bleemel, a brother, Matt Bleemel, and a son, Steveson Tomes II.
Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Brown Cancer Center.
