Funeral services for John William “Billy” Farnsley Jr., 69, of Jeffersonville, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Seabrook, Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, Market Street Chapel, New Albany, with interment in Bunker Hill Cemetery, near Salem. He died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at his home.
He was a native of Mt. Vernon, Ky. and was employed by General Electric, Louisville, and retired from The Budd Company, Shelbyville, Ky. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife, Jenna Lee Payton Farnsley; son, Antonio Howard Farnsley, of Upland, Calif.; three brothers, Larry Farnsley, of New Albany, Tommy Farnsley, of Pekin, and Doug Farnsley, of Jeffersonville; three sisters, Becky Taylor, of English, Kathy Farnsley, of Salem, and Vicki Frost, of Salem; mother, Mary Elizabeth Farnsley, of Salem; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, John W. Farnsley III and a daughter, Tammy Farnsley.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hosparus of Southern Indiana.
