Funeral services for Charles "Chuck" Plantz, of Corydon, will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28, at Newcomer Funeral Home, New Albany, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth. He died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was a member of the American Legion, a disabled veteran of The United States Army and a member of the United Methodist Church of Elizabeth. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and spending time with his grandchildren and his beloved dog, Cubby.
He is survived by his wife, Janet; daughters, Jalinda Nalley and her husband, David, Carla Grieves, Missy Schilmiller and her husband, Jamie; and six grandchildren, Keifer, Chuck and Maggie, Liz, Chelsea, Blaine and Logan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Bill Franks of Michigan.
Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, and after 9:30 a.m. Monday, at the funeral home.
