— A memorial service for Robert Vandyke Elliott, 86, of New Albany, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook, Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes in New Albany, with burial in New Albany National Cemetery. He died Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at his home.
He was born in Muncie and resided most of his life in New Albany. He was retired from Ford Motor Company in Louisville. After retirement, he operated a locksmith service. He was an Army Air Corp veteran of WWII and a member of Silver Street UMC in New Albany. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, the American Legion, was a graduate of Jeffersonville High School and attended Indiana University.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Elliott; children, Marc Elliott and his wife, Patricia, Brenda Hunt, Phillip Elliott and Sara Elliott; grandchildren, Julie Elliott and Laura Elliott; and a brother, David Elliott.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Eleanor Elliott and his sister, Janet.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Silver Street UMC.
