Lorraine Marie Bukowski McWherter Leeper, 76; of Jeffersonville

A funeral Mass for Lorraine Marie Bukowski McWherter Leeper, 76, of Jeffersonville, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 316 North Sherwood Ave., Clarksville. She died peacefully Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at Norton Hospital, Louisville, with her family by her side.

She was a very loving and giving person, especially when it came to her grandchildren and family. She loved to needlepoint, country music, jigsaw and seek-and-find puzzles and her flowers.

Survivors include her children, Helen Hayes and her husband, Donald, of Okeechobee, Fla., Cynthia Cranmer and her husband, Dan, of Jeffersonville, Laura Leeper, of Clarksville, Joseph Leeper and his wife, Carrie, of New Albany, and Mary Scott and her husband, Gary, of Clarksville; nine stepchildren; grandchildren, Sursha, Donald, Allison and Crystal Hayes, Brennan Cranmer, James Cecil, Grace Leeper, Joseph Leeper Jr., Jacob Leeper, MicKayla Lowe, and Austin Scott; great-grandchildren, Shane, Jorden, Diego, Serenity, Jasmine, Marcus and Bobby; and her siblings, Eleanor O’Hara, of Clarksville, along with Al, Leona, Margaret, Vicky, Sue, Diane and Shirley.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Leman McWherter and Paul Leeper; parents, John and Helen Bukowski; and sisters, Delores and Rosie.

Visitation will be at Scott Funeral Home’s North Chapel, Jeffersonville, from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and at the church from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with envelopes available at the funeral home.
