Lula M. Jenkins Rogers, 88; of New Albany

Funeral services for Lula M. Jenkins Rogers, 88, of New Albany, will be at noon Friday, Feb. 12, at Kraft Funeral Services, Spring Street Chapel, New Albany, with entombment in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. She died Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, at Marion General Hospital, Marion.

She was born April 1, 1921, in Marengo, to the late Lonnie and Mary Hawkins Jenkins. She was formerly employed at the former ICI Americas in Charlestown and Colgate Palmolive Company in Clarksville. She was a lifelong member of Mount Tabor Presbyterian Church, New Albany.

Survivors include her son, Terry Lee Rogers and his wife, Diane, of Peru; daughter, Dorothy Louise Sweeney and her husband, Craig, of Chula Vista, Calif.; sisters, Britty Knight of Marengo, Juanita Cole of Leavenworth and Gertrude Cole and her husband, Bobby, of New Albany; grandchildren, Eric, Matthew, Jessica, Robby and Kelly; and great-grandchildren, Zoe, Kenny, Gracie and Justus.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Rogers; and brothers, Russell and Floyd Jenkins.

Visitation at the funeral home will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Mount Tabor Presbyterian Church, 918 Mount Tabor Road, New Albany.
