Minnie ‘Mini’ Jean Major, 60; of Louisville

Funeral services for Minnie “Mini” Jean Major, 60, of Louisville, will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 31, at the Magazine Street Seventh Day Adventist Church, Louisville. She died Friday, July 25, 2008 in Huntsville, Ala.

She was a native of Alabama and was a former instructor for the Jefferson County Public Schools from 1992 to present. She was also an instructor for Emma L. Minnis Jr. Academy and a member of the Magazine Street Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Survivors include her sons, Samuel Lee Major Jr. and Maurice Major; daughters, Minnette Major-Carrol and husband, Mark, and Marisa Major; six grandchildren; brother, George Miller, Mobile, Ala.; a host of relatives and friends; and a dear beloved friend, Arthur Farmer.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, Samuel L. Major.

Visitation will be at the church from 3 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 31.

Baity’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
