J. E. “Eddie” Miller, 87; WWII Army Air-Corps veteran
Funeral services for J. E. “Eddie” Miller, 87, of Sellersburg, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, at Garr Funeral Home, Sellersburg, with burial with military honors performed by Wilbur Ruby Post of the American Legion 204 at a later time. He died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008, at his home.
He was a native of Jellico, Tenn. He served as a bombardier and pilot in the U.S. Army Air-Corp during World War II. He served as the president of Indiana Southern Bank, formerly Sellersburg State Bank. His other interests and activities included serving on the advisory board of the St. Louis Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank, a member of the American Legion Post 204, and serving as a trustee of the Sellersburg United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his son, Scott A. Miller, Cape Coral, Fla.; daughters, Susan Miller and husband, Kent, Sellersburg, and Kathy Padgett, and husband, Glen, New Albany; four grandchildren, Kerri Eckert, Angie Bishop, David Miller and Brian Robertson; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceeded in death by his first wife, Nan Miller, and two sisters, Kate Roser and Hazel Eppiheimer.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday.
