Edna M. Johnson

Edna M. Johnson, 88; of New Albany

A memorial services for Edna M. Johnson, 88, of New Albany, will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, at Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, Market Street Chapel, New Albany, with interment in New Albany National Cemetery at a later date. She died Saturday, June 20, 2009, at Clark Memorial Hospital.

She was born in New Albany on Sept. 18, 1920 and was a member of Greenville Christian Church.

Survivors include a son, Henry Johnson and wife, Brenda, of Harlan, Ky.; two daughters, Carol Lete and Pat Kaiser and husband, Bud, of Greenville; a brother, William “Bill” Turner and wife, Nancy, of Anderson, grandchildren, Zary Lete and wife, Vicki, Laura Lete, Robert Kaiser, Phillip Kaiser and wife, Erin, George Johnson, Bethany Smith and husband, Remington, Adam Johnson and wife, Faith and Kyle Johnson and wife, Jennifer; and great-grandchildren, Luke and Alexis Lete, Gavin, Ruth and Alecia Kaiser and Brody and Colin Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Charlotte Reeves Turner; her husband of 60 years, Virgil S. Johnson; a son, David S. Johnson; four brothers, Richard, Bob, Stewart and Benjamin “Duke” Turner; and a sister, Elizabeth Turner.

Memorial visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Greenville Christian Church or Vista Care Hospice.
