Lester V. Merkley, 57; of Jeffersonville
Funeral services for Lester “Dad” Merkley, 57, of Jeffersonville, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 2, at Scott Funeral Home’s North Chapel, Jeffersonville, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. He died Sunday, June 28, 2009, at his home.
He worked at Haas Cabinet for 12 years. He then took a job at Colgate as an operator technician before retiring after 22 years.
His family includes his loving wife, Janet Merkley, of Jeffersonville; a deceased daughter, Angel M. Merkley; a son-in-law, Jeramy Miller, of Jeffersonville; stepdaughter, Amy Wilson, of Jeffersonville; son-in-law, Robbie Wilson, of Jeffersonville; a son, Leslie Merkley, of Jeffersonville; a daughter, Maryia Rommel, of Jeffersonville; and five grandchildren, Autumn Wilson, Chandler Merkley-Miller, Alaina Wilson, Jackson Rommel and Cortland Rommel.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
