Fred Allen Searcy

Fred Allen Searcy, 70; U.S. Marine veteran

A graveside service for Fred Allen Searcy, 70, of Louisville, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, at Walnut Ridge Cemetery, Jeffersonville. He died Saturday, June 27, 2009, at the VA Hospital in Louisville.

He was born in English, Ky., graduated as the valedictorian from Carroll County High School and retired from the U.S. Census Bureau. He previously bartended at Flaherty’s and the Do Drop Inn and was a Marine veteran of the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Searcy, of Jeffersonville; a son, Steven Searcy and his wife Amy, of Jeffersonville; three daughters, Robin Arbuckle and her husband, David, of Jeffersonville, Angie Lampkin, of Georgia and Patty Jo Stiveder, of Lexington, Ky.; seven grandchildren, Jacob, Shelby, Danielle (Cody), Andrew, Aaron, Amberly, Casey; and three great-grandchildren, Jayden, Lina and Seifer.

Visitation at Scott Funeral Home’s North Chapel, will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, June 30.
