George R. Smith, 61; Vietnam War Marine veteran
George R. Smith, 61, of New Albany, died July 1, 2009, at Robert E. Lee Healthcare Center.
He was a native of Detroit, a Marine veteran of the Vietnam War, and a member of the Amvets.
Survivors include his sons, Douglas Lee Smith, of Avon, and Glenn R. Smith, of Louisville; daughter, Gwen Smith, of Louisville; sister, Sharon Chandler, of Jeffersonville; and six grandchildren.
Cremation was chosen.
Visitation will be at Scott Funeral Home’s North Chapel, Jeffersonville, from 2 to 4 p.m. today.
