Alma Mae Smiley, 78; of Clarksville

Funeral services for Alma Mae Smiley, 78, of Clarksville, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 3, at Pyke-Calloway Funeral Service, New Albany, with burial Monday, July 6, at Madison National Cemetery. She died Sunday, June 28, 2009, at Clark Memorial Hospital, Jeffersonville.

She was born Dec. 2, 1930, in Hardinsburg, Ky. She was a member of Church of Life Ministries in Jeffersonville and was retired from Food Service.

Survivors include three daughters, Diane Monts and husband, Jesse, of Clarksville, Dana Kaiser and husband, Herbert Jr., of Clarksville and Carla Sutton, of Clarksville; two sons, Eric Jones, of Louisville and Kevin Jones, of Clarksville; a sister, Ruth Jones, of New Albany; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Alphonso Smiley Sr.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to the time of service on Friday at the funeral home.

The family request that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 206, Henryville, IN 47126.
