Richard Leon ‘Rick’ James; 58, of New Albany

Funeral services for Richard Leon “Rick” James, 58, of New Albany, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, at Coots Funeral Home in Jeffersonville, with burial in Tunnel Hill Cemetery, Edwardsville. He died Friday, July 3, 2009, at University Hospital in Louisville.

He was a native of Jeffersonville and owner/operator of Rick James Floor Covering in New Albany.

Survivors include his wife, Christine James; daughters, Melissa Koehler, of New Albany; Vanessa Moore and her husband, Jason, of Florida, and Alisa Mattera and her husband, Chad, of Corydon; sons, Daniel James and his wife, Erika, of Corydon, and Jackie James and his wife, Lori, of New Albany; his mother-in-law, Frances Pickard, of New Albany; and 13 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John James Sr. and Stacie BeDell; a sister, Linda McGaha; and a brother, John James Jr.

Visitation at the funeral home will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday.
