Margaret Lynne Lay

Margaret Lynne Lay; 59, Jeffersonville

Funeral services for Margaret Lynne Lay, 59, of Jeffersonville, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at Christ Gospel Church, Jeffersonville, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. She died Saturday, June 27, 2009, at University of Louisville Hospital.

She was born July 9, 1949, in Matthews, Mo., and was a member of Christ Gospel Church. Margaret liked to volunteer to help the elderly and troubled teenagers. She loved her family, friends and enjoyed her yearly vacation time.

Survivors include her sons, Jeffrey Watts and his wife, Miriam, of Floyds Knobs, and Shawn Lynne Lay, of Charlestown; nine brothers and sisters, Dorothy McMillen, of Granby, Mo., Charlene Farmer, of Henderson, Colo., Jay Lay, of Dallas, Daniel Lay, of Piedmont, Mo., Norma Lay, of Kansas City, Mo., Linda Birdsong, of Tonasket, Wash., Jerry Lay, of Lakewood, Wash., Violet Guthrie, of Sikeston, Mo., and Kenny Lay, of Atlanta; and three grandchildren, Jacob Allen Watts, Chandler Larry Watts and Christian David Watts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Samuel Lay and Lilly Lynne Lay; and five brothers and sisters, Mary Couch, Donnie Lay, Lonnie Lay, Deloris Bush and Billy Eugene Lay.

Visitation will be held at Scott Funeral Home’s North Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and at Christ Gospel Church from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Memorial contributions can be made to Christ Gospel Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
