Violet B. Ashabranner, 86; of Corydon

Funeral services for Violet B. Ashabranner, 86, of Corydon, will be at noon Wednesday, Feb. 3, at Heidelberg United Methodist Church, 2210 West Heidelberg Road Southwest, Corydon, with burial in the church cemetery. She died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at Harrison Health and Rehabilitation Center in Corydon.

She was born in Harrison County on June 11, 1923, the daughter of John and Creta Myrtle Crecelius Quick. She was a homemaker, a member of the Old Capitol Order of Eastern Star and Heidelberg United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her son, Larry Ashabranner and his wife, Janet, of Corydon; daughters, Sherry Williams and her husband, Mike, of Corydon and Creta Barnickle and her husband, Steve, of Lanesville; brother, Harold Quick, of New Albany; sister, Mary Crump, of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Steven and Kevin Ashabranner, Kyle Williams and Craig and Brittney Barnickle; and great-grandchildren, Landon, Ellen, Austin and Sydney Ashabranner.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer Ashabranner; brothers, Cecil and Paul Quick; and sister, Edna Bailey.

Visitation will be at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Homes, Corydon, from noon to 8 p.m., with an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m., today, and after 10 a.m. Wednesday.
