Donna Kay Potts, 75; of New Albany

Funeral services for Donna Kay Potts, 75, formerly of New Albany, will be at 11 a.m. today, Tuesday, Feb. 2, in the Kraft Funeral Services, Spring Street Chapel, New Albany, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.

She died Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, at Oakhill Hospital in Spring Hill, Fla., surrounded and comforted by her loving family.

Daughter of the late Don Wade Locey and Grace Newman Locey Higdon, she was born March 25, 1934, in Louisville. She was a member of the First Congregation United Church of Christ and was the National Historian and member of the National Association of Retired Postal Inspectors.

Survivors include her children, Paula Rae Vercillo and her husband, Thomas, of Davenport, Iowa, Sandra Kay Gigante and her husband, Anthony, of Spring Hill, Fla., Don Edward Potts, of Spring Hill, Fla., James William Potts and his wife, Christine, of Jacksonville, Fla. and Susan Lynn Potts, of Leesburg, Va.; grandchildren, Mark, Scott, Jenna, Michael, Matthew, Catherine, Adam, Jessica, Jordan Ray and Jordan; and great-grandchildren, Micayla and Thomas.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Raymond E. Potts; and companion, Cecil “Chris” Christensen.

Visitation was at the funeral home Monday.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions in her name to Jericho Road Ministries, P. O. Box 864, Brooksville, Fla., 34605 or Disabled Sports USA for the Wounded Warrior Project, 451 Hungerford Drive, Ste. 100, Rockville, Md., 20850.
