Virginia May Pat Hancock

Virginia May Pat Hancock, 73; of Jeffersonville

Funeral services for Virginia May Pat Hancock, 73, of Jeffersonville, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at Coots Funeral Home, Jeffersonville, with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. She died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at her home.

She was born July 22, 1936, in Portsmouth, Ohio, to the late Curtis and Gladys Baker Angel. She was a homemaker and a member of Tri-City Baptist Temple in New Albany, the Eagles Auxiliary 1527 for 37 years, VFW Auxiliary in Jeffersonville, and the Moose Lodge Auxiliary in Sellersburg.

Survivors include her daughters, Debe Mueller of Clarksville, and Kathryn Brewer and her husband, Doug, of Jeffersonville; sons, Steven, Robert, and Louis Hancock, all of Jeffersonville, and Lloyd Angel of Louisville; brother, Jim Angel of New Washington; sisters, Clara Combs of New Albany, Regina Smith of Jeffersonville, and Ruth Lombari and her husband, Dick, of Orlando, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis H. Hancock; son, Patrick “Herbie” Hancock; and grandson, Ryan P. Hancock.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the family in care of the funeral home.
