James Earl ‘Jim’ Fulkerson, 62; of New Albany

Funeral services for James Earl “Jim” Fulkerson, 62, of New Albany, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at Paul F. Kraft Sr. Memorial Chapel at Generations Funeral Home, New Albany, with burial to follow at Edwardsville Cemetery, Georgetown. He died Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services, with his family at his side.

He was born on March 1, 1947, to the late Thomas Larkin and Zetta Mae Payton Fulkerson in New Albany. He was a self employed mechanic and body shop painter. He enjoyed flying model airplanes and was a member of the Old Man’s Flying Club, American Modelers Association and the Southern Indiana Modelers Club.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Phyllis Kays Fulkerson; children, Barbara Keller and her husband, Danny, of Memphis, Robert Fulkerson and his wife, Cindy, of Burnsville and William Fulkerson and his wife, Vallory, of New Albany; brother, Leroy Fulkerson and his wife, Jan, of Salem; sisters, Goldie Holbrook, Joyce Wynn and her husband, Roger, and Darlene Milam and her husband, Herb, all of New Albany; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation at the funeral home will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today.
