... to the “nurse” who left a large box of over the counter medication (but not her name) for our clients.
The hydrocortisone cream and cold remedies were in such critical demand this week. We appreciate your donation so much and I wish I could thank you in person. What a wonderful gift that directly benefits your fellow citizens during this season of giving.

... and bah humbug to the gas stations in the area for raising their prices 46 cents Tuesday, Nov. 27, while the price of oil has been going down.

... for the many blessings experienced by Haven House Services Inc. this past year. As in all years, we are so grateful to the many people of this community who continue to come by with food, clothes, furniture, money, time, and love as we strive to serve Southern Indiana’s most vulnerable citizens.
This year has been one heck of a year. First, Wall Street United Methodist Church renovated the kitchen downstairs; then the township trustee assisted us with furnace repair and some essential repairs; a fundraiser was held for us last October by a dynamic team of women: Linda Cooper, Teresa Perkins, Melanie Yates, Carolyn King, Diane Kircher and Jill Schimpff with a chili supper.
This year, Perkfection Cafe and Nathan Todaro, along with his brother Brandon and mother Carole Vissing held another fundraiser for us at the Cafe. It was dynamite — a very successful night with a wonderful lasagna dinner, a silent auction and great entertainment. Jen Allen, Kerri, and Ed were all on board to help as well and we had a great time.
Jesus Cares at Exit O and a church out of Shepherdsville, Ky., assisted us with the renovation of the staff bathroom and lots of food. We thank you.
Wall Street United Methodist has been a godsend to us this year in more than one way. They are currently renovating the women’s bathroom and monthly they hold a birthday party for the residents of the shelter born that month.
Their Christian outreach is very strong and we thank them for all the help, as we thank Gilt Edge Baptist for feeding our people daily for lunch and sending a monthly contribution for the shelter. Your faith and help has been a strong foundation for us.
First Presbyterian and their strong support has been most gratifying and we thank you humbly for being adopted again in December and Eastside for their strong outreach for years of Sunday breakfast and assistance.
So many come forward: First Christian Church, St. Paul’s, Northside Christian, Faith Evangelical Church, Bethel AME, Wesley UMC, St. Augustine, Sacred Heart, First Trinity, First Charlestown, St. Mark’s, Sellersburg Baptist, Howard Park, Oak Park Baptist, and so many, many more. We are humbled by you.
The city of New Albany, the city of Jeffersonville, the city of Scottsburg, the Charlestown and Jeff Township Trustees, we thank you.
So many continue to support and wish us well and we are humbled and grateful. May God Bless you and keep you strong as you continue to help us help those who need all of us the most.
