CLARKSVILLE —
The Clarksville Police Department upped its patrol last weekend to conduct a blitz on traffic violators and reel in higher-level offenders.
The four-hour blitz, from 10 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday, resulted in 15 arrests and the confiscation of drugs including cocaine, marijuana, narcotic pills and spice. The department reported seizing more than $3,000 of drug money during the program.
Officers set up two blitz areas, both near locations with a high frequency of police calls.
The blitz areas were concentrated near Eastern Boulevard and Interstate 65 and at the Lynch Lane area off Lewis and Clark Parkway.
Clarksville Police Chief Mark Palmer released a statement following the blitz.
“This program was successful in targeting drugs being transported in and out of Clarksville,” he stated. “We will continue with these blitzes to keep these drugs out of the Clarksville community.”
