NEW ALBANY —
The pastor of a New Albany church appeared in a Jefferson County Circuit Court Friday after he was charged in December with three counts of sodomy on a child in the second degree.
The Rev. Isrom Johnson, 33, a pastor at Prince of Peace Missionary Baptist Church, located at 725 Linden Ave., was in the court for a pretrial conference, at which time another pretrial conference was scheduled for March 25.
Johnson, a Louisville resident, was released from the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections Dec. 17 after a $10,000 full-cash bond was posted.
The offenses that Johnson has been charged took place between March 2009 and March 2011, according to court documents.
Each charge is a class C felony, punishable by five to 10 years in prison.
The victim is the same individual in each of the three charges.
There was no answer to calls placed to Prince of Peace church, and Johnson’s current status with the church is unclear.
