CLARKSVILLE —
Four men were arrested following an undercover operation conducted by Clarksville police at Theatair last week.
The men were seen involved in illegal activity by an investigator who had entered the business’ open theater about 10 p.m. that was playing pornographic movies, a police report says.
The investigator reported that he saw Eric Dee Baxter, 40, of 5196 Charlestown Crossing Way in New Albany, “... sitting totally nude with this clothes siting in a pile below his feet,” according to the police incident report. “This continued for 30 minutes.”
In a separate area of the same theater, the investigator saw three other men, Craig Richard Wilson, 44, of Georgia, and Robert Eugene Razor, 45, and Joseph Alexander Sonne, 31, both of Louisville. According to the police report, the men were performing sexual acts on themselves and each other. Investigators later said the men’s actions included fornicating with one another.
After the investigator identified the criminal activity in the theater, he signaled for uniformed officers to enter the theater where all four men were arrested about 10:45 p.m. Each of the men was charged with indecent exposure, a class A misdemeanor, and public nudity, a class C misdemeanor. The men are scheduled to appear in Clark County courts, according to officials, but court records did not reflect the time of their initial hearings as of press time.
Clarksville police conducted a sting operation at Theatair X on Nov. 12, which resulted in the arrests of two men on charges of patronizing a prostitute and a third man on a charge of public indecency for engaging in sexual intercourse with another man, police reported.
Clarksville Police Maj. Darrell Rayborn said the department will continue to make arrests at the business if similar behavior continues.
“We are going to concentrate on it [the business],” Rayborn said. “We are going to go there when we can. We can’t do it every day, or every week. We can’t stop that kind of activity, but we can deter it.”
Rayborn said officers did not conduct any surveillance at Theater X between their Nov. 12 and Dec. 28 investigations.
