CLARKSVILLE —
A group of churches are organizing a vigil for slain teenager Tara Willenborg at 4 p.m. Sunday at Cambridge Square Apartments, the sight of the crime.
No Life Forgotten — a ministry of Jeffersonville’s downtown churches — will join in quiet gathering at the north entrance of the apartment complex in Clarksville to mark the death of Willenborg. Visitors are asked to gather in the grassy area under the big tree, just north of the entrance at Camden Court and Kopp Lane.
Believing there is a need for the church community to offer a response to the murders that occur from time to time in our larger community, No Life Forgotten gathers at the sites of these tragedies. The group gathers first to pray, asking God’s blessing upon the victim, those who mourn their loss, others involved, the police and those who provide for our public safety and welfare, our elected and appointed officials and our city.
Richard Hooten, 49, a neighbor of Willenborg’s has confessed to police and media to raping and murdering the teenager.
