CLARKSVILLE —
Two Louisville men are in jail after failing to stop for a traffic violation resulting in a vehicle pursuit with Clarksville police Oct. 21.
Clarksville officers ceased the pursuit when the men drove into Louisville.
The officers returned to America’s Best Inn in Clarksville in an attempt to identify the fleeing suspects. The officers also contacted Louisville Metro Police Department in reference to the vehicle entering its jurisdiction.
At the motel, the officers were informed that the men had left the area after stealing a woman’s purse.
The vehicular pursuit came to an end when the men were involved in an accident on Third Street in Louisville, which sent them to the hospital for treatment of their injuries, police reported.
On Tuesday, Clarksville police compiled a photo lineup, and the woman who had her purse stolen identified the two men involved in the accident.
Police preliminarily charged Joshua Eigelbach, 27, and Leroy Johnson, 19 with burglary-related charges.
The men are in the Jefferson County Jail on unrelated charges, police said.
