JEFFERSONVILLE —
Greater Clark County Schools announced that Bunny Nash-Gardner, principal at Corden Porter School, has been named the 2011 Outstanding Administrator of the Year by the Indiana Council for Exceptional Children, according to a Greater Clark news release.
George Van Horn, president of the Indiana Council for Exceptional Children, said, “We recognize Bunny Nash-Gardner for demonstrating knowledge, skill and sensitivity in the advancing opportunities, life potential and achievement of children with disabilities and serving as a role model and inspiration to her students, teachers and community. She exemplifies dedication to the principles and high professional standards in special education.”
The Indiana Council for Exceptional Children is the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving educational outcomes for individuals with exceptionalities. The organization accomplishes its worldwide mission on behalf of educators and others working with individuals with exceptionalities by advocating for appropriate government policies; setting professional standards; providing continuing professional development; advocating for newly and historically underserved individuals with exceptionalities; and helping professionals obtain conditions and resources necessary for effective professional practice.
Nash-Gardner will be recognized today at the Indiana Council for Exceptional Children’s Annual Conference in Indianapolis.
