JEFFERSONVILLE —
Jeffersonville High School head baseball coach Matthew Rigsby unexpectedly resigned today, three days after guiding the Red Devils to the Hoosier Hills Conference Tournament championship.
Greater Clark County Schools’ chief operating officer Marty Bell confirmed Rigsby’s resignation. Bell said the reason for Rigsby’s resignation was for health reasons.
Bell said Jeffersonville High School principal Jim Sexton is in the process of hiring an interim coach to conclude the season. Bell said Sexton will look for the interim coach either on the current coaching staff or within the school.
Along with resigning as the baseball coach, Rigsby stepped down as Jefferonsville High School’s attendance liaison.
