Silver Creek ‘Pink Out’
The second annual Silver Creek Volleyball ‘Pink Out’ will be Tuesday, Sept. 18 at Silver Creek High School when the Dragons host Seymour. The event will support cancer awareness.
The freshman match will start at 5:30 p.m., followed by the junior varsity match at about 6:30 p.m. and the varsity at about 7:30 p.m.
Admission is $5 at the door. Silver Creek will be wearing black and pink jerseys and the Dragon players are encouraging all Silver Creek students and fans to wear pink.
There will be a special recognition ceremony between the JV and varsity matches. All of the net proceeds from the T-shirt, bake sale and special concessions will benefit the American Cancer Society.

Jeff alumni game and family day
The Jeffersonville High School Baseball Boosters are sponsoring the second annual JHS alumni baseball game and family day on Saturday, Sept. 29 at Don Poole Field in Jeff. Festivities will begin at 3:30 p.m., followed by the alumni game at 7 p.m.
The event will include a home run derby, player introductions and fun for Jeff alumni baseball families.
Registration is $40, which includes player fee and a T-shirt.

Sand leagues, tournament
JR’s Pub, 826 W. Main St., New Albany, will be hosting two sand volleyball leagues and a sand volleyball tournament later this month.
They are the following:
• Thursday coed league: The league will start on Thursday, Sept. 27. It will be a five-week league with a tournament during the last week of the league. Cost is $30 per person. There will be six players on the court and a two-female minimum.
• Thursday men’s league: The league will begin on Thursday, Sept. 27. It will be a five-week league with a tournament during the last week. There will be four players on the court. Cost is $30 per person.
• Coed tournament: The tournament will be on Saturday, Sept. 22. Cost is $50 per team. It will be a single-elimination tourney. There will be six players on the court and a two-female minimum.
