IU Southeast to host Military Day on Sept. 25
The IU Southeast men’s tennis team is hosting a Military Day to honor all active-duty and prior members of the military to thank them for their service.
The event is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 25 during the Grenadiers’ match against the College of Mount St. Joseph. The match will begin at 4 p.m.
The tennis team will host members of the 387th Military Police Company of the Indiana National Guard, based out of the New Albany Armory. Members of the company will be deployed to Afghanistan in January to help train the Afghan police force.
The Grenadiers will be wearing camouflage shirts during the match. The team also will be selling shirts as part of a fundraiser. Members of the military can purchase shirts for a discounted price with a military ID. Donations will be accepted to benefit the local VFW and American Legion posts.
The IU Southeast athletic department invites all active-duty or prior members of the military, and their families to the match on Sept. 25.
